Aim of Nalanda Charitable Trust is to educate deserving students

Our aim at Nalanda Charitable Trust is to educate deserving students, who are not able to support themselves monetarily. We conduct tailoring classes for housewives so that they can make a living out of this skill. We run a day care for kids up to the age of 5. These are kids of daily laborers who cannot afford an expensive day care. These kids are also taught English and are fed. We have helped quite a number of students to complete their schooling. Tuitions & guidance were offered to them for their effective learning. We extended financial support towards their school fees, uniforms, and other school needs. A couple of students are now working in corporate offices after completing college. One of our boys is now pursuing his Bachelors in Dental Surgery, while another is practicing Chartered Accountant, yet another doing his law and so on and so...

In India, trusts set up for the social causes and approved by the Income Tax Department get not only exemption from payment of tax but also the donors to such trusts can deduct the amount of donation to the trust from their taxable income. The legal framework in India recognizes activities including “relief of the poor, education, medical relief, preserving monuments and environment and the advancement of any other object of general public utility” as charitable purposes. Companies formed under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 for promoting charity also receive benefits under law including exemption from various procedural provisions of the Companies Act, either fully or in part, and are also entitled to such other exemptions that the Central Government may accord through its orders. Nalanda is a voluntary organization started with a specific purpose of helping the younger generation, who are poor and vulnerable. The dreams of these children have never been realized because of their poverty.
